My Body, My Mind, My Say - MS and Emotions Live Chat

So you’ve just been diagnosed with MS. What goes through your mind when you hear those words? Is it a relief that finally you have a name for what you’ve been feeling? Or is it a devastating blow? Everything you had imagined about life may have suddenly changed. Then when you think you are doing just fine - bam - a relapse! Do your feelings sweep out of control again?

MS can affect everyone differently, across a range of physical and emotional symptoms, and everyone copes with the day to day uncertainty and challenges in a different way. But wouldn’t it be great if you had advice on how to handle those emotions?

These are the questions we’ll be discussing in more detail at our Facebook Live chat on 15th December. The chat will feature a Q&A session with two experts Rosemarie Wilson, a life coach and Yolanda Higueras, a neuropsychologist, moderated by Aoife Kirwan, a MS blogger. You will also have the chance to ask the experts your questions during the discussion using the Facebook comment function.

We’ll be talking about the effect of MS on emotions and how diagnosis and relapses can have an impact on your state of mind. Our experts will also be providing tips on how to better manage your state of mind, for both the newly-diagnosed and those who have been living with MS for years.

We launched My Body, My Mind, My Say in February this year with a live-streamed panel debate on the impact of physical and cognitive MS symptoms. More than 900 people across Europe tuned in to our panel on YouTube, which featured MS experts.

Our Facebook Live chat is the next step forward in continuing the debate!

For more information and to RSVP, click here. You will also have the opportunity to send in your questions prior to the event by writing on our wall or sending us a Facebook message. You can also ask questions during the event and we will try our best to get as many answered as possible. Do make sure you RSVP to the event and use the hashtag #DisruptingMS on Twitter!

We look forward to seeing you there!
