After her diagnosis in 2007 she became involved in voluntary work with MS Ireland as an MS Readathon Ambassador, visiting schools to talk to students about MS and engaging them in fundraising activities. Karen and her partner talk at MS seminars for the newly diagnosed and their families about the effects of MS on our family and how they have come to terms with this condition. They also recently wrote an article on this topic for the Irish Independent newspaper.
