Dr. Chrysa Chrysovitsanou / Greece

Chrysa is the supervisor of the Specialized Outpatient Department at the Neurologic Clinic and Multiple Sclerosis Clinic at Eginitio Hospital, University of Athens, Greece. She is also a teacher in the Nursing School, responsible for education in neurology.

Chrysa has been working with MS patients for 27 years, counselling and educating them and their families on their disease and therapy. She has also been educating nurses on MS and disease modifying therapies since 2000. She is the leader and coordinator of MS support groups for patients and their families and is also a member of the scientific committee of MS society in Greece. She has MSc in Mental Health and MSc in Stress and Health Promotion of Medical School of Athens

She is an active speaker in Greece, both to patients and healthcare providers, on topics related to the care of people living with MS. She also is the author of many books and articles related to MS and researcher in MS field, and is a member of the International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses (IOMSN).

Chrysa loves mountain biking and sailing and also writes poetry. She has a 13 year old son, who plays football and is always concerned about her missing calls from MS patients who might need help. He is very supportive of the way she cares for her patients.
